This is the beach at our hotel, the Park Plaza Normandie in the San Juan Metro Area (Muņoz Rivera Avenue). Although the scene looks beautiful, it's devoid of the normal flock of sunseekers that hit the beach. This is because the beaches in this area aren't that great... we referred to them as sandboxes. Most people settled for the 30 minute cab ride west of San Juan to Isla Verde, where the "turquoise water (Of the Atlantic Ocean) meets the golden sands." I've never been to Isla Verde but that's what they say! Nevertheless, the pathways here served well for quiet evening walks before and after the Salsa performances.
